History of the Roman Republic

The Birth of the Roman Republic

Above is a map showing the Etruscan territory of Italy.  As we know, the Etruscans were the first people to rule over the area known as Rome.  Read the section "The Early Republic" on the link below and complete the "What Went Wrong?" activity.

Fall of the Republic

  

Above is a map showing the land of the Roman Republic at its end.  As the Republic grew larger, problems emerged which ultimately lead to its fall.  Julius Caesar is credited with being the last ruler of the Republic and the changes he made in the government eliminated the remaining ideals of the Republic.  There are many opinions about Julius Caesar, below is a link which examines his life.   Anlayze the information about Caesar and complete the activity below.
